Personal Information and Data Gathering

Shortbread Wine often uses third-party development partners to assist in online development and deployment, as well as for data and information collection. These companies are bound by our privacy policy covered below, as well as by all other conventions and business practices of Shortbread regarding user information and data from online sources. For the purposes of this document, the terms “We,” “Us” and “Shrotbread” also represent these third-party developers.
We collect information from visits to our site to help us understand the usage patterns of our site, and to provide better customer service. Information collected in this manner is provided automatically by your system and the systems that you use to connect to our site. For example, we use Google Analytics in order to analyze its traffic and optimize its performance.  We use this information to better tailor our site for our visitors and their usage patterns, as well as to gauge performance and other measures of the site.
Cookies are sometimes used to further track usage patterns of the site by users. For example, Google Analytics places cookies, including a ClientID that is recognized by the CCPA as a persistent identifier. Cookies left on your system by our site are sometimes used for the purpose of allowing users the convenience of not having to re-enter usernames and passwords on our site, however, no username or password information is kept on your local device. Only a unique identifier is kept on your system that will allow you to access the records stored on our secure, password-protected server(s).
Registration is required to use certain features of our site. We will collect general contact information, such as name and e-mail address, as well as demographic information, such as zip code. Data collected from online user-completed forms is stored in secure, password-protected server locations. Demographic information collected is used to help us, or our partners, to analyze our aggregate user base and better tailor our site, promotions or other features to better serve that user base. Contact information is also used to better understand our user base.
From time to time, Shortbread will contact our registered users who have opted in to be e-mailed with promotional information that we feel would be applicable to and desired by that user. At any time a user wishes to opt-out of these e-mails, they may do so by reaching out to contact@shortbreadwine.com . Once opted-out, the user will not receive any further communication from us.

Further use of personal information and data gathered by Shortbread

Shortbread will occasionally utilize partners and vendors to assist it in analysis of the data and information collected by our sites. This information is used in aggregate and anonymous format for the purpose of better tailoring our website, promotions or other company endeavors to better suit our user base. This information is shared with our partners and vendors only on an as-needed basis. Financial information will never be shared with any organization other than those necessary for completing the financial transaction required.
Information and data gathered solely by Shortbread will never be sold, traded or shared with third parties for any other reason than assisting Shortbreadin its analysis, research and promotional needs.  Notwithstanding the foregoing, disclosure may be necessary (1) to comply with the law or with a legal process; (2) to protect and defend our rights and property; (3) to protect our customers from misuse or unauthorized use of our website; or (4) to protect the personal safety or property of our customers or the public.

This site is not designed to attract anyone under the age of 21 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 21 on this site.

This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. All registration information is stored in secure locations on password-protected servers.  However, no data transmissions over the Internet can be guaranteed to be secure, and we cannot ensure the security of information that you provide and therefore you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your information, we make reasonable efforts to ensure security on our systems. However, we cannot guarantee that such information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed by breach of any firewalls or secure server software we may employ.

Choice/Opt-Out

If you no longer wish to receive email marketing communications from us, you may opt-out of receiving marketing-related emails by using the unsubscribe method provided in our communications (e.g., by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link in the email to unsubscribe).

Information for California Residents

This Privacy Notice for California Residents supplements the information contained above in Shortbread’s Privacy Policy and applies solely to all visitors, users, and others who reside in the State of California (“California Consumers” or “customer”). We adopt this notice to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”) and any terms defined in the CCPA have the same meaning when used in this notice.
‌As described above, we collect information that identifies, relates to, describes, references, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer, household, or device (“California personal information”). The CCPA provides California residents with specific rights regarding their California personal information. This section describes California Consumers’ CCPA rights and explains how to exercise those rights.
California Consumers have the right to request that we disclose certain information about our collection, disclosure and use of a customer’s California personal information over the past 12 months. To the extent available, once we receive and confirm a California Consumers’ verifiable request we will disclose:
  • The categories of California personal information we collected about the customer.
  • The categories of sources for the California personal information we collected about the customer.
  • Our business or commercial purpose for collecting California personal information.
  • The categories of third parties with whom we share California personal information.
  • The specific pieces of California personal information we collected about the customer.
California Consumers have the right to request that we delete any of the customer’s California personal information that we collected and retained, subject to certain exceptions. Once we receive and confirm a verifiable request we will delete the customer’s California personal information from our records, unless an exception applies.
To exercise the access, data portability, and deletion rights described above, California Consumers may submit a verifiable request to us by either calling us at 707-527-7355, or sending an email at contact@Shortbreadvintners.com . California Consumers, or an authorized agent, may only make a verifiable request for access or data portability twice within a 12-month period. The verifiable request must provide sufficient information that allows us to reasonably verify the customer is the individual about whom we collected California personal information or an authorized representative and describe the customer’s request with sufficient detail that allows us to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it.
We will not discriminate against a customer for exercising any of their CCPA rights.
Proposition 65 Information for California Residents
